Powrgardsports.com visited Redfern, Sydney last week to see the Indigenous Dreamtime Team appear for a fan signing. There was a huge turnout of indigenous people who had a great time meeting their favourite players. It was great for us to see the proud Indigenous culture that surrounds Redfern.
La Perouse, Sydney
The following training day, at La Perouse Football Club, was a notable day for Powrgard®. Preston Campbell handed out free Powrgard® Mouthguards to the footy kids who were delighted to receive them from their favourite Dreamtime/Titans player. Powrgard® also gave mouthguards to the Under 16s Indigenous NSW Rugby League Squad, who played an exciting game of touch against the Dreamtime Team.
On both days an Aboriginal dance squad from Stradbroke Island and Ipswich were a hit with the crowds, performing several traditional tribal dances and a war dance, which were highly enjoyable to watch.
We look forward to seeing if the games between the Aboriginal Indigenous team and the New Zealand Maori, becomes a regular event.
